*Many believe that Hershey Kisses got their name from the machine that makes a “smooching” sound when it produces the tear-shaped chocolate.

*Kiss was a generic turn-of-the-century term for a bite-sized piece of candy.

*Kissables or candy-coated kisses were introduced in 2005 to compete with M&Ms. They failed. In 2009 they were pulled off the market.

*Peanut blossoms are kisses baked into peanut dough. They were a finalist in the 1957 Pillsbury Bakeoff. They’re still popular today.

*One kiss contains 23 calories.

*If all the Hershey Kisses produced in one year were lined up, it would be 300,000 miles or more than the average distance to the moon.

*The paper plume in each kiss is also called a Niggly Wiggly.

*HersheyPark is an amusement park complete with rides, water park, shopping, games,  ZooAmerica, Hershey’s Chocolate World and family resorts.

*Streetlamps on Chocolate Avenue in Hershey, Pennsylvania are shaped like kisses.

*The 26-foot Hershey’s Kissmobile has traveled over 250,000 miles.

*Hershey’s Kisses are eaten around the world.

*Characters in HersheyPark include giant kisses, dancing chocolate bars, jolly ranchers, smiling life-size Reese’s peanut butter cups, and bright red Twizzlers.
